Evaluate your car
You should not only invest your time and effort cleaning the interior of your vehicle. As much as possible, clean both the interior and exterior of your car. Make you that you have not missed a single spot including the handle, carpet, car seats, hood, wheels, etc.
Use stiff brushes, microfiber cloth, air spray and vacuum
Stiff brushes would serve as your great partner in cleaning as it helps a lot in loosening the dirt that has accumulated in your upholstery and your carpet as well. On the other hand, you can use the microfiber cloth to remove the dust ad particles. For hard to reach areas, you can use an air spray and then, use the vacuum to get rid of the debris in the floor and your carpet. When it comes to cleaning the tires, only use non-acid based cleaners, especially if you have painted or coated wheels as it can damage it.
Clean your car's paint
You can purchase paint cleaners from the store that would help you remove the unwanted chemicals, contaminants, stains and wax in your car's paint. In case your vehicle has swirl marks, you can also use the paint cleaner to get rid of it. On the other hand, there is also the so-called paint cleaning clay that comes together with a cleaner wax that comes in a liquid form. However, if you opt for the latter one, just make sure that the clay is clean and that it hasn't been dropped on the floor.
Polish your car and protect the paint
For your vehicle's paint to be smooth and shiny again, you need to clean it. With that, you are giving your car a newer look. For you to do this, you can use either an oscillating polishing machine or oscillating buffers. After giving it, a nice polish now is the time for you to protect the paint by applying wax. It is suggested for you to apply to coats of wax to ensure that you got everything covered.
Clean the glass
The last step in car detailing is to clean the glass. Now, you might be wondering as to why cleaning the glass is the last. Well, this is because the dirt will accumulate in it during the previous steps mentioned above and for sure, you don't want to waste your time cleaning the same spot again, right? Also, just make sure that your glass cleaner is ammonia free for not only does it smell bad for it is also not good for your car's glass.
More than anything else, it is important for you to pay attention to every detail to ensure that your DIY car detailing project would be a success.
